When they finally fixed the device the person stated that they change the logic and fan which was not the problem. They changed the logic (did not fix the issue). Then I found a iMac user who took their device into apple where they first replace the fan (did not fix the issue). I found out the some notice a increase or decrease in Kernel_task while plugging the power of. With nothing working I decided to look for apple discussion post. Booting into safe mode and reinstalling the OS. After many research and reset if SMC and NVRAM. I’ve recently encountered this problem with the Kernel_task acting up. A year a go I would say this was ridoclous but after hearing about Apple intentionally slowing down iphones it wouldnt surprise me too much. The cynic in me suggests this might be some ploy to get us to part with our money for the iMac Pros and allows them to market the pro's stats against the iMacs. I want to give Apple the benefit of the doubt here but I am starting to worry that the newer iMacs just dont perform as well. Thinking this was maybe a hardware issue we sent it back to apple and got a replacement.new machine, same spec, same problem. This is obviously causing the fans to work overtime and slows things down. Its cpu usage seems to be going through the roof compared to a 2014 iMac with a lot lower spec in the office running the same processes. We recently purchase an 2017 iMac which we upgraded slightly (spec above).
